“Catch Out” is a short film by Suryadevsinh Parmar made for his graduation project at Srishti Manipal Institute in April 2024. I worked on Surya’s crew as the Director of Photography on this film.

As the DP, I worked with Surya to bring his vision to life as best I could, from breaking down the screenplay into shots, planning the dual-camera setups in advance wherever we could, going on several location recces to find places that would be ideal for the shoot and then finally executing them on the shoot days. With Surya, I blocked each shot carefully to bring out the best visual possible and add to the narrative through the visuals.

FILM SYNOPSIS:

“Catch Out” revolves around a father-son duo, Anurag and Ayush, as Ayush undergoes a shift in perspective about his father as events unfold. A feel good film, it subtly focuses on the role that a father plays in a child’s life.
